		<Abstract>The rapid growth of digital financial services has significantly transformed consumer payment behavior in India Among various payment instruments credit cards have emerged as one of the most widely used financial tools offering convenience flexibility and access to shortterm credit The increasing penetration of banking services and digital transactions has further accelerated the usage of credit cards across different segments of society This study focuses on credit card usage patterns analyzing how consumers use credit cards their spending behavior awareness levels and factors influencing usage The research is conducted with reference to HDFC Bank one of Indias leading private sector banks known for its strong presence in retail banking and credit card services The primary objective of the study is to understand the behavior of credit card users including their spending habits frequency of usage and preferences The study also examines the role of HDFC Bank in promoting credit card usage through its innovative products and digital platforms Primary data has been collected from 100 respondents using a structured questionnaire including salaried individuals business professionals and students Secondary data has been gathered from banking reports financial journals and industry publications Recent trends 20232025 indicate  Growth of digital payments and cashless economy  Increase in credit card adoption among young users  Rise in online shopping and ecommerce transactions  Expansion of rewardbased credit card systems Integration of mobile banking and fintech solutions The findings of the study reveal that credit cards are primarily used for convenience and online transactions Most users prefer credit cards due to benefits such as cashback rewards and ease of payment However issues such as high interest rates overspending and lack of awareness about charges remain challengesThe study concludes that credit card usage is growing rapidly but effective financial management and awareness are essential to avoid debtrelated risks Banks like HDFC play a crucial role in promoting responsible credit usage and financial literacy</Abstract>
